If you’re a gadget geek, by the way, you’re probably going to love it the first time you see the Chronos light show, which plays delightfully with the contrast between tech and mech – making it an asset rather than a disadvantage. The lens-shaped profile of Chronos gives just enough clearance to allow the lights to be clearly visible when they do their thing. Alerts are customizable via the Chronos app, which is very well designed and intuitive to use (our sample paired without any issues and the app ran without a hitch) and you can set fitness goals as well.

Along the edge of the Chronos disc are mini-LEDs, that allow Chronos to display blue, yellow, red, green, or purple colors. It’s a 2.5 mm x 33 mm stainless steel, metal and polycarbonate disc on one side there’s a slightly sticky-feeling backing that acts like an adhesive without actually being a conventional adhesive. The Chronos smart disc doesn’t look like much on its own – that’s okay, because when you use it as intended, you won’t actually see it at all.
